Charitable Work
Kim strongly believes in giving back and actively contributes to the community.
She is the founder of Making Waves for Autism, a national paddling initiative that raises funds and awareness for Autism Canada. Launched in 2024 with a solo 365 km paddle, the campaign has since expanded across Canada with participation from clubs and individuals coast to coast. Making Waves for Autism has raised a cumulative total of over $110,000 since 2024.
Kim was appointed to the Board of the KGH Foundation. Kim is also a Board Member with the Central Okanagan Foundation and co-chairs the Investment Committee. She is also a Board Member with the Central Okanagan Land Trust.
Kim sits on the Advisory Committee for the Raymond James Canada Foundation (RJCF). Established in September 2012, RJCF has facilitated grants of more than $6.8 million to over 1,000 charities across Canada. She also helps organize the firm's Life Well Lived program, a health and wellness initiative for Raymond James employees.
Kim is a member of the Ring Committee at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. She is also a past President and Director of the New Stride Thoroughbred Adoption Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to finding adoptive homes for non-competitive and injured Thoroughbred racehorses. Kim remains involved as a coordinator for the charity's annual Thoroughbred Jumper Challenge. She is also a regular volunteer with the Toronto Police Service, helping in their mounted unit.
She is also the proud sponsor of a trail in Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park in beautiful Kelowna, BC through Friends of the South Slopes Society (FOSS). As a part of her sponsorship, she helps with the general maintenance of the trail system.
Kim is a big believer in supporting local charities, whether that is by volunteering time or providing financial support. She is a supporter of many community causes.
